METAL BLADE RECORDS Signs Comedian And 'That Metal Show' Co-Host DON JAMIESON

January 13, 2011

Metal Blade Records has announced the signing of comedian and metalhead Don Jamieson.

Jamieson, who co-hosts VH1 Classic's hit heavy metal talk show series "That Metal Show", will film his performance at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, New Jersey on January 30 for his upcoming Metal Blade debut titled "Live and Hilarious". Fans will have two chances to catch the comedian on the 30th as Don performs at both 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

"Metal Blade is easily the most respected label in the world of metal," said Jamieson. "If you see their stamp on a record, you know it will be heavy!

"My live stand-up record will bring a metal attitude to comedy and hopefully be one of their heaviest releases of 2011!"

Added Metal Blade Records chairman and CEO Brian Slagel: "We are very excited to welcome Don Jamieson to the Metal Blade family. I have long been a big fan of comedy and am looking forward to working with Don. Not only is he an accomplished stand-up, but a huge metal fan as well. This will be a new and exciting addition to our Metal Blade roster."

Don's stand-up act brings his everyday take on life, the hip, the cool and the tragically sublime into the spotlight. Besides performing at clubs in New York City, Don tears it up at clubs and theatres all over the country. For the last four years, he has been the regular opener for Andrew Dice Clay. His reputation as one of New York City's top comics was cemented when he was asked to perform live on ABC's "Good Morning America".
